False facts in the plastic surgery – VII

Medical aestheticians are expert on a field of aesthetic procedures. FALSE

Medical aestheticians, as our colleagues who do not expert on any field (general practitioner), and work devotedly under hard conditions at the health care centers, and family health clinic in our country.

They are known as aesthete or aesthetician by obtaining certificate in 10-15 days at the courses (paid) organized by Ministry of Health.

They are not expert on any field of medicine, including aesthetic procedures, and have no authority/competence to perform any procedure, intervention or surgery related to the plastic surgery.

The procedures that may be performed to the patients are limited to procedures that may cause harm to the patients. Due to the superficial procedures that they have performed, it is wrong to call them as “aestheticians, plastic surgeons or estheticians”.

Just like the fact that a general practitioner who has obtained 3-day education about abortion is not considered as a gynecologist, or that a technician who lends assistance during anesthesia procedure is not considered as an anesthetist. In fact, all the responsibility and competence to perform aesthetic procedures belong to the plastic surgeons.

The people who lend assistance in the surgeries or perform supplementary procedures cannot be expert on that field.
