Deep Plane Face Lift

derin plan yüz germe nedim sarıfakıoğlu

Deep plane face lift, DPFL surgery, which was first described in 1990, is preferred to eliminate sagging caused by gravity and volume loss that occurs with age and to create a rejuvenating effect.

Compared to classical facelift techniques, the results are longer-lasting and more natural-looking because it places the tension load on deeper tissues instead of the skin, but it is also a more invasive surgery.

deep plan face lift priceDeep plan Face Lift surgery can be summarized as releasing the SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) layer, which is an evolutionary residue on the face, and fixing it by stretching it to its new place with suspending sutures. SMAS is a sheath (fascia) consisting of different thicknesses and layers that covers and supports the facial muscles.

The procedure sometimes also involves stretching the platysma muscle, which covers the face and neck like a cape, and therefore the skin of the neck.

The technique is not applicable to every patient. The surgical plan is determined depending on the patient’s anatomy, degree of sagging and the surgeon’s preference. When necessary, Deep plan Face Lift can be combined with other additional procedures such as fat injection, temple or eyelid aesthetics.

deep-plan-face-lift-explanationLike all surgical procedures, deep plane facelift has risks and complications. Among these; Bleeding, Infection, Temporary functional and sensory impairment due to nerve edema or partial damage, Significant scar formation, Hematoma (blood accumulation), Seroma (fluid accumulation), Tissue necrosis, although very rare, can be listed. Conditions such as smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, use of blood thinners or herbal products, and immune system disorders increase the risks.

Deep plan Face Lift surgery provides significant, natural and permanent results in the mid and lower facial areas of patients with moderate and severe facial sagging. Factors such as lifestyle factors, genetic predisposition, and sun damage can affect the duration of results. The recovery process varies from person to person, but usually takes a few weeks.

Aesthetic procedures or surgery are not performed on patients with “body perception disorder”, which is seen in 15% of the population.
