Miss Türkiye or Miss Jury?

I congratulate my young colleague Ms Idil; However, I would like to draw attention to some points. Ms. İdil was chosen by a jury among the contestants. Therefore, it is both wrong and inappropriate to evaluate this choice based on factors such as his profession, family, and the school he graduated from.

İdil Hanım is Miss Turkey, chosen by the jury by majority vote among a number of contestants. In this case, the she herself is a beautiful she chosen not by the public but (in fact) by the jury. Since the jury is not elected by the public and merit cannot be taken into account due to the nature of the job, it does not represent me, us, the collective. But it will happen abroad.

All else aside, if the jury members were asked “What is beautiful or what is Beauty?”, do you think they could make two sentences side by side that could be taken seriously? For this reason, İdil Hanım should be considered the beauty of the jury, that is, ‘Beauty of the Jury’. The same standard and result applies to the second beauty. In the Eurovision example, a more appropriate method is followed by asking the public directly. The real question to ask is: Who selected, or in popular parlance, “appointed” the jury?

From a broader perspective, it’s not just physical appearance that determines a beauty pageant; If criteria such as culture, elegance, speech and education are taken into consideration, the winner of this competition is called “Beauty Queen” and the name of the competition is “Turkey Beauty Contest”? Based on these criteria, wouldn’t “Ambassador” be a more appropriate title? The criteria in Best Model competitions are more variable.

In short, this result, together with the jury itself, those who choose the jury, the mind that chooses those who choose the jury, and the empty television criticisms that we are once again in the spiral of, seem to be an accurate reflection of the distorted situation that Turkey is in.

The result is final, there is no appeal. Last word: I do not find the jury’s decision or the criticisms against Ms. İdil very appropriate for our country and I am not surprised.
